I was lucky enough to be on assignment at the 2nd annual Boxcar Country Music Festival in Saint John, New Brunswick on the weekend.
The shows had a long list of New Brunswick talent like Tristan Horncastle of Fredericton, Mike Biggar from Saint John, The Mainlanders from Moncton and many more like Chirs Cummings who did a retro set of his number ones from the late 1990’s and 2000’s, great memories.

Thursday night’s rain did not dampen our spirits as Tennille Arts took the stage in the rain.
Brett Kissel followed as the main headliner who brought his high energy show for over an hour and a half playing all his hits like “Airwaves,” “We Were That Song,” “Let Your Horses Run,” and wrapping up his encore with “Anthem.”
Brett said his first trip to New Brunswick as a kid was to Saint John and he fell in love with the Maritimes.

Friday’s bill was stacked with Jess Moskaluke with a rockin’ set that wrapped up with a singalong of Cheap wine and Cigarettes that continues to set records for her. Jess even got a new tattoo of a bull’s head on he left leg. I said, “is that real?” and she said, “look Ian, it’s bleeding!”

Lindsay Ell followed Jess onstage and shredded her guitar. She’s playing in Shania Twain’s band lately. I said, “say Hi to Shania for me!” and she replied,” I got you!”

High Valley wrapped up the Friday night crew and played all of the hits that had the crowd singing at the top of their lungs.

The third and final day had Kalsey Kulyk on stage, she just had a baby boy seven weeks ago.

Tyler Joe Miller of British Columbia was next, he went for a boat ride in Saint John’s reversing Falls and got soaked doing the tourist thing.

The final act of the weekend was the brother and sister duo Jenna and Stu Walker, the Reklaws.

It was great to get caught up with them, they’re in the competition on America’s Got Talent, they did the song in honour of their Mum who lost her battle with mental health call “People Don’t Talk About It” follow with social media here to follow their journey on AGT!
Hi to all our Hot Country 1035 listeners who made the trek to Saint John.
I can’t wait for Boxcar 2025!
