This Sunday afternoon the Billy Marr Memorial Skate Sharpening Fundraiser will take place.
It will be on between 12pm and 6pm at 139 Freshwater Trail in Dartmouth.
The event will feature Saint Mary’s University hockey training staff Michael Fines and Kevin Purchase plus Ken McCormick sharpening skates on Billy’s sharpener.
A $20.00 minimum donation includes a skate sharpening, a beverage and a ballot to win a great prize.
Proceeds will go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Billy was a local fire fighter and was well loved by his firefighting community friends.
He was a part of teams like the Halifax Mooseheads and the Yarmouth Mariners and was well known around the Nova Scotia hockey circles.
Billy lost his courageous battle with cancer earlier this year, he was a friend of mine, and we miss him around the rinks.

So, if you can, please support the Billy Marr Memorial Skate Sharpening Fundraiser this Sunday, September 8th.
