Sobeys has brought back their beloved Christmas song with a new musical ornament this holiday season to put on your tree.
The ornament plays the classic jingle “Star of Christmas” song from the original commercial that came out in 1987.
The tune ever since has become synonymous with the holiday season here in Atlantic Canada.
Each ornament costs $10 and the great news is 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward food banks here in our region.
There have been around 25,000 ornaments made, and they will be available in all Sobeys, Foodland and participating Co-op stores in Atlantic Canada while supplies last.
I picked up a couple at the Sobeys in Timberlea, they’re great stocking stuffers and perfect for us sentimental jingle lovers.
The original 80’s song was produced by Bob Quinn with help from “the Voice of Sobeys” for decades, my friend Clary Flemming.
