Congratulations to three of our very own Halifax Mooseheads who’ve been selected to the NHL’s prospect list for the 2025 entry draft from the NHL Central Scouting rankings.
They include defenceman Carlos Handel is the 66th ranked North American skater while forwards Liam Kilfoil of Quispamsis, New Brunswick, and Shawn Carrier hold the 96th and 194th positions.

Carlos is the highest scoring rookie defenceman in the QMJHL with 15 points while Liam is tops on the Herd with 28 points with an equal distribution of 14 goals and 14 assists. Shawn is third on the team in scoring with 22 points thanks to nine goals and 13 assists.

The list features a total of 41 QMJHL players that have earned the attention of NHL scouting experts so far this year.
This year’s NHL draft is June 27th and 28th in Los Angeles, good luck fellas!

The Mooseheads start a three-game road trip tonight against the Memorial Cup host Rimouski Oceanic, then Saturday face the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and a rematch with Drummondville on Saturday.
During the trip, the Moose bus will put 2,620 kilometers on the odometer!
