Drake Batherson from New Minas extended his NHL goal streak as the Senators rolled past Flames last night.
The Ottawa forward and former Cape Breton Eagle tied franchise record with goals in 6 straight games!
Drake scored a pair of goals for the Ottawa Senators in a 5-1 victory Monday over the visiting Calgary Flames.
With seven goals in his last six games, the 22-year-old the Annapolis Valley native matched the franchise record held by Jason Spezza for the longest goal streak.
Drake says he hasn’t had a scoring streak like this since he played in Pee Wee!
He says: “I don’t know. Everything I’m just shooting is going in, the boys are making some great plays for me. The second one was lucky tonight.”

As the Halifax Mooseheads Public Address Announcer, I sit next to the Visitors Penalty Box and had a few good chats with Drake over the years when he played with the Eagles.
One night he got a couple of penalties back-to-back, at the end of his second one, I told Drake to not to come back again! He listened and he didn’t come back, at least for that night… 🙂
Keep up the great work Drake, we are all Nova Scotia proud!
