The 39th Halifax Buskers Festival has returned to the Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts.
It’s on now to this Natal Day Monday, August 4th, with stages at the Halifax Seaport, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Sackville Landing, Foundation Wharf, and Dartmouth’s Alderney Landing.
Along with 2024 People’s Choice winner, circus performer Pancho Libre, this year’s festival will feature 16 acts in over 200 shows from across Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea and Austria. I’m looking forward to seeing “Silver Elvis” from Toronto who promises to “Love You Tender…”
When our son Drake was about 7, a busker at Sackville Landing was looking for a volunteer, so he went up.
The busker gave him a $5.00 bill and told him to put it under his pillow that night when he went to bed, and it would turn into a $50.00 bill when he woke up… needless to say, we had to make a pitstop on the way home to the cash stop!
