This weekend up in Truro the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame will add their class of 2025 inductees.
This year’s additions include: Paul Kennedy: A builder and promoter of country music.
Paul began his radio career in 1968 at CJLS in Yarmouth, which is now Y-95.5, an Acadia Broadcasting station and has promoted many East Coast, national, and international artists.
In 1968 he interviewed a 23-year-old Anne Murray, before “Snowbird” became an international hit in 1970, and his very first interview.
He has chatted with everyone from Liverpool’s Hank Snow to Shania Twain over the years and is still on-air at Seaside FM the community radio station in Easter Passage, NS, where he’s been for 24 years now.
Paul, a Dartmouth resident, is also a member of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inducted in 2005 and we first worked in radio together in 1987 here in Halifax and has been a great friend ever since.

The induction ceremonies are scheduled to take place at the Inn on Prince in Truro, Nova Scotia, on this Saturday, September 27, 2025 with doors opening at 4pm and dinner served at 5pm.
