A man faces charges including impaired driving and bribing police after a crash in Lower Sackville.
The RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 102 near the Bedford exit just after 5:30 a.m. on October 21st.
Officers located a Volkswagen Golf with front-end damage parked on the side of the highway.
The driver and lone occupant was standing next to the car.
Police say he showed signs of impairment but refused a breath test and then tried to give the officer money to leave.
According to the Mounties, he was arrested and taken to their local detachment where he was combative during booking.
The 18-year-old Lantz man is charged with the following offences:
- Operating While Impaired
- Refusal to Comply with Breath Screening Demand
- Bribery of Officers
- Resisting Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
The accused was held for court the same day and released on conditions.
He is scheduled to appear in Shubenacadie Provincial Court.
