On Hot Country mornings with Jody & Melody we shared with you on your Country Catch Up that Morgan Wallen just passed another country legend. His new single “Graveyard Whistling” debuted at #11 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. This marks his 117th career entry and that moves him past Willie Nelson, for fourth-most all time.
Now Morgan trails only George Jones, who has 155, George Strait, who has 124 and Johnny Cash, who has 121.
Keep in mind, Morgan is only 32 years old. To have 117 songs make the chart in seven years is mind-blowing. If he keeps up this pace, he could be at the top of this list in a few years.
AND we shared with you that tour life can wear anyone down, even Lainey Wilson. Lainey once pushed herself so hard that Miranda Lambert got worried.
Lainey was on Southern Living’s “Biscuits & Jam” podcast and admitted that she’s only slept in her own bed about 15 nights all year. But when Miranda found out about it, she surprised Lainey with an offer. She said, “Come out to the farm, take a nap, and we’ll feed you.” Lainey accepted but that nap ended up being 13 hours! The nap must’ve worked because she wrote her song “Good Horses” alongside Miranda and Luke Dick.
Check it out below.
Sleep really does work wonders.
