Great to see Halifax’s own Jill Saulnier’s back home here in Nova Scotia where her hockey dreams all began.
Her dad built her a rink at the young age of five and the rest is hockey history.
From those early days in local HRM rinks to standing on the Olympic podiums, Jill has always given us lots of memories.
Her career has included playing for Cornell University, later winning the Clarkson Cup with the Calgary Inferno, Jill’s hockey journey has certainly been exciting to follow.
She has represented Canada on the world stage many times, earning Olympic gold in Beijing 2022, silver in PyeongChang 2018, and multiple medals at the IIHF World Championships.

Now, Jill brings her hockey talents to the PWHL’s Boston Fleet, but her connection to here at home is strong as ever.
So let’s give her a huge Halifax homecoming welcome back to # 44 Jill Saulnier here at the Scotiabank Centre for Game Two of the PWHL Takeover Tour, giving our local fans the chance to cheer on one of our own all over again.

Puck drop is at 1pm with Halifax’s Sophie Thomson assigned to be a linesperson for the game.

Above Sophie works an AUS SMU/Moncton game with my son Drake.
I’m honoured once again to be assigned to announce another PWHL game on Sunday.

Game one between Montreal and Toronto was off the charts with a loud sold-out crowd of 10,438 eventually going to a shoot-out with Captain Clutch Marie-Phillip Poulin scoring the winner.
Let’s show that we deserve a PWHL franchise here in Halifax.

See ya Sunday at 1pm!
