I was thrilled to get called up to announce Sunday’s second PWHL Takeover Tour Game here in Halifax with the Ottawa Charge beating the Boston Fleet 2-1 in a shootout in front of another sold-out crowd of 10,452.
Halifax’s Jill Saulnier had a huge round of applause when introduced in the starting lineup.

Halifax Olympic gymnast Ellie Black did the ceremonial puck drop.
The legendary Anne Murray was a special guest. A bucket list moment to introduce Anne to thunderous cheers and applause.

The very first time I was ever on the radio was when I was 12 years old in 1978. Jay Bedford hosted Battle of the Giants on 1270 CJCB, where you call in and vote for two songs battling it out.
I called “long distance” from Big Bras d’Or to Sydney at 539-5900 and voted on-air. Jay said “CJCB Battle of the Giants” and my squeaky voice replied “Anne Murray ‘You Needed Me’, please.” I was on Cloud 9.

There were crowd chants of “WE WANT A TEAM!”

Hopefully Halifax will get an expansion team in the PWHL next season!
