From the World Women’s Hockey Championship in Sydney at Centre 200 in Cape Breton, Team Canada laid it all on the line but were shutout by Team USA 2-0.
Canada blanked the USA to win gold last year, so the tide was turned this year with the Americans seeking revenge.
Both Canada and the US both went undefeated at the tournament heading into the Gold Medal game last night.

The rink was sold-out with 5,039 fans in the stands with a sea of red and white.
Nova Scotia was represented by two Bluenosers: Kendall Doiron of Boylston and Jaylee MacKinnon of Clark’s Harbour.

For the record, Canada the defending champions has never won the tournament on home ice.

A shout out to all the organizers and volunteers for putting on a world class tournament in Sydney and Membertou, welcoming the worlds best young players.
