Tonight the Toronto Maple Leafs will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Darryl Sittler’s iconic 10-point night.
He actually did it on February 7th, 1976, in the Leafs 11-4 win over Boston at Maple Leaf Gardens.

Darryl scored 6 goals and 4 assists that night and the record still stands here today, five decades later.
I remember watching the game that night as a 9-year-old, it seems like yesterday.
Darryl ate Swiss Chalet before his epic night. Later after learning this, the restaurant chain gave him $500.00 worth of Swiss Chalet coupons, that was a LOT back then.

He got his ten points on Bruins goalie Dave Reece and often jokes at hockey banquets that after the game Reece was so upset that he jumped out in front of a Toronto Subway Train, but that went through his legs, too.

I’ve been lucky to meet Darryl a few times and can say he is a class act.
Thanks for the great childhood memories, # 27!
Go Leafs Go!
