At the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in Halifax last night, stakeholders and partners gathered to celebrate Halifax Gymnast Ellie Black’s induction into the Order of Canada.
The ceremony was hosted by Bruce Rainnie of the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame, who is also a CBC Olympic broadcaster.
The 30 year old is a four time Olympian has spent her entire career here and still calls Nova Scotia home.
Ellie’s official induction in Ottawa will happen sometime over the next year.

Ellie is the second youngest to receive the Order of Canada , the youngest was Terry Fox.
I was lucky to meet her earlier this month at the PWHL Halifax game on January 11th and introduced her when she did the ceremonial puck drop, and for the record she’s really nice!
