This past weekend in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, the Halifax Macs captured the U18 Atlantic Championship by defeating the Fredericton Caps 2-0 in the Finals.
Chandler Bell, from Stillwater Lake stopped all 30 shots to earn the shutout. Chandler suited up with the Halifax Mooseheads twice this past season. Jax Ginnish, born in Membertou, NS and a draft pick of the Cape Breton Eagles, earned the tournament’s Top Defenseman and MVP awards.

The Macs will now attend the National Championship Telus Cup in Peterborough, Ontario later this month from April 20th to 26th.

A fundraising campaign to help with travel costs has been launched by local McDonald’s owner/operator, Peter MacIsaac.

All McDonald’s restaurants in the Halifax Area (Dartmouth, Sackville, Bedford, and Tantallon) will donate $1 from all Big Mac sales this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 10th-12th as the iconic Big Mac supporting the iconic Halifax Macs.
By the way, our son Drake was a referee at the 2022 Telus Cup in Calgary representing Hockey Nova Scotia with Hockey Canada.
Go Macs Go!!
