You can soon fly directly to Barbados from Halifax in a four-hour flight.
Barbados Tourism Marketing has announced the launch of a new nonstop flight from Halifax, Nova Scotia by Air Canada.
The new route marks a significant milestone for Barbados in introducing nonstop service from Atlantic Canada.
The new service will operate weekly on Thursdays beginning on December 17, 2026, on a 177-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, providing efficient, direct access between Halifax and Barbados.
This announcement is the result of more than 18 months of direct engagement in Halifax and Atlantic Canada.
Many have Barbadians emigrated to Nova Scotia over the years and we have strong connections with the Caribbean Island.

Currently you have to take a connector flight like when my wife and I went there in 1990 and got engaged!
