Two men are facing charges following a road rage assault in East Hants, a collision in Windsor Junction, and their arrest in Beaver Bank.
RCMP say it was Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m. when they responded to a report of an ongoing assault on Highway 214 in Elmsdale. Officers learned two men in a dark-coloured BMW assaulted two people in a pickup truck after an apparent road rage incident. The suspects also damaged the truck before taking off at high speed.
Less than half an hour later, RCMP say they responded to a report of a three-vehicle collision involving the same BMW at the intersection of Fall River Road and Windsor Junction Road. Officers learned the two men and a woman jumped out of the car and ran into a wooded area nearby.
With assistance from the HRP Canine Unit, drones, and tips from the public, RCMP were able to track them down. They say the three were picked up by two other people while trying to escape, however, officers successfully stopped and arrested all five.
Both men involved in the original road rage incident face multiple charges while the other three people were released without charges. The charged suspects appeared in court on April 16th, and RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
