Public Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 at various locations in Central Zone and an Air Canada flight.
Anyone who worked at or visited the following locations on the specified date and time should book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms.
You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access, or if you have other symptoms that concern you.
For the following locations, if you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 you do not need to self-isolate. If you have symptoms you are required to self-isolate while you wait for your test result, as are the other members of your household.
- Atlantic Superstore (6141 Young Street, Halifax) on June 15 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named dates may develop symptoms up to, and including, June 29.
- Walmart (6990 Mumford Road, Halifax) on June 15 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named dates may develop symptoms up to, and including, June 29.
- Walmart (6990 Mumford Road, Halifax) on June 18 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named dates may develop symptoms up to, and including, July 2.
Health officials also advising of a possible high-risk exposure at a Halifax gym.
Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, those present at the following location on the named date and times are required to self-isolate, get tested, and continue self-isolating for 14 days, even with a negative test result.
- Fit4Less – weight area (1535 Dresden Row, Halifax) on June 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, July 2.
For the exposure at Fit4Less on Dresden Row:
Even if your test result is negative you must continue to isolate up to and including July 2, 2021 at 11:59 p.m., 14 days from the potential exposure due to coming in close contact with someone who had COVID-19. It is recommended that you get tested again between June 30-July 2. If your test result is positive you will be notified by Public Health directly.
All those who worked or visited this Fit4Less location on the specified date and time but were not in the area of the potential high-risk exposure are encouraged to get tested for COVID-19.
If you have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the exposure date, you are not required to self-isolate as long as you are not experiencing any symptoms of the virus.
You are still asked to get tested once and should monitor for symptoms up to 14 days after the exposure date. If symptoms develop you should self-isolate, get re-tested, and stay isolated until you receive a negative test result.
Anyone who was on the following flight in the specified rows and seats should book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms.
All other passengers on this flight should continue to self-isolate as required and monitor their health.
- Air Canada 612 travelling on June 19 from Toronto (5:10 p.m.) to Halifax (8:11 p.m.). Passengers in rows 13-19, seats C, D, E and F. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, July 3.
