Drop-in COVID-19 testing will be available at several locations in the Halifax area this week.
Public Health says testing people who show no symptoms has been crucial in helping to limit the spread of the virus in Nova Scotia.
The mobile units provide easier access to testing, which is free and open to all ages.
Nova Scotians are encouraged to get tested even with mild symptoms like a sore throat, a runny/congested nose, or headache.
The mobile units will be available at the following locations:
Central Zone – HRM:
- Halifax Transit Bridge Terminal (24 Nantucket Avenue, Dartmouth)
– Tuesday, July 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Halifax Transit Lacewood Terminal (320 Lacewood Drive, Halifax)
– Tuesday, July 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Northern Zone – East Hants:
- Elmsdale Legion, Branch 48 (850 Highway 2)
– Wednesday, July 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
These testing clinics do not provide COVID-19 vaccinations, but staff will be able to help you book your next vaccine appointment and can answer any questions.
Meantime, the Ummah Mosque and Community Centre is hosting a drop-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Tuesday in partnership with Nova Scotia Public Health.
The community centre is located at 2510 St. Matthias St. The clinic runs from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Arabic and Urdu interpreters will be on-site.
