It’s day five of the provincial election campaign with two leaders pounding the pavement in Halifax.
NDP leader Gary Burrill will make an economic announcement in the city at 9:30 a.m. with Halifax Needham candidate Suzy Hansen before visiting the community.
Burrill will also campaign in Clayton Park West, Bedford South, and Bedford Basin on Wednesday.
Tory Leader Tim Houston kicking things off with a media availability in Halifax at 10 a.m.
He’ll then campaign in Eastern Passage with candidate Barbara Adams and in Sackville-Cobequid with candidate Steve Craig.
Liberal leader Iain Rankin is in Antigonish to make an announcement on what the party calls “critical highway infrastructure” at 10 a.m. The rest of the day will be spent touring central Nova Scotia and Cape Breton.
On Tuesday, several promises were made on the campaign trial.
The NDP proposed permanent rent control, while the PC’s unveiled plans for a rewards program for shoppers who buy local.
The Liberals said they would remove the tolls from the Cobequid Pass by October 1, but big rigs and tourists would still need to pay the four dollars.
