Your Halifax Mooseheads had their first two road games of the QMJHL season on the weekend.
On Saturday night the Herd began their 31st campaign with a 2-1 shootout win over the Charlottetown Islanders with Logan Crosby of Salt Springs, Pictou County netting the winner.
Then on Saturday the Moose played the Saint John Sea Dogs and had a 5-2 victory in The Port City.
It was a game with a bunch of firsts with first career goals for Rookie Caylen Blake, sophomore Antoine Fontaine & Danny Walters the Herd rookie and former Halifax Mac.
The Herd continue their five-game road trip this Friday night in Sydney facing the Cape Breton Eagles for the first Battle of Nova Scotia at The Nest.
Congrats to Sambro’s Jacob Newcombe who was recently named Captain of the Eagles.

Last year Jacob battled cancer and is now cancer free and leading the Eagles.

The Herd’s home opener is Friday October 4th versus the Quebec Remparts, the season begins a little later in Moose Country with renovations being done at the Scotiabank Centre.
